Advantages
to owning a Buford
Do the words simple, inexpensive, convenient, and safe interest you? Then
Buford is your answer!
Convenience
- Rope by Yourself
- No Cattle to Gather
- No Horn Wraps to Put On
- No Chute Help
Simplicity
After Buford is set up & electricity has been supplied, all you have to do is
flip the switch and begin roping. Each time the steer is roped, slick horn or by one
or two feet, the machine stops for a predetermined time, while you take your rope off
and get set for the next run. The machine will start back up automatically. Only requires:
- 65’ x 65’ Open Flat Area for Machine to Travel
- Electrical Hookup with 20 amp Capacity
Safety
Buford is a safe way to start beginners roping and learning to dally. The machine is
a must as it can be slowed down or sped up as needed to match the skill level of all
ropers. If a roper does get caught in a dally, the machine doesn’t have the power or
speed of a steer, so most wrecks and loss of fingers are avoided!
Fundamentals
We all need to practice on our fundamentals. Because of the variable speed of Buford, it can be slowed down to speeds that let you concentrate on each aspect of your roping. Each run is the same, and this allows the roper to work with either a horse position or their own roping technique without worrying what the steer will do.
- Allows Concentration on the Swing
- Fixing Your Eye on the Target
- Delivery
- Young Horse Training: Follow, Rate, Stop
- Excellent Dally Practice Without the Danger
- Allows You to Get a Loop with Every Run
Economy
Feeding practice steers is a large cost of roping today. Buford was made with the roper’s pocketbook in mind.
- Costs Less Than Five (5) Steers
- No Feed or the Time it Takes to Feed
- No Pens Required
- Replaces More Than 30 Head of Roping Steers
- Never Gets Sick or Tired
- No Broken Horns
- Requires Very Little Electricity
